Funeral rites for Mrs. Ellis Bishop, 45, who died at the Baptist Hospital from injuries received in a car wreck Wednesday night near the Sanatorium were held from Bethlehem Church with Rev. G.O. Parker of Carthage in charge of the services. Mrs. Bishop was a member of the Baptist Church and a life time resident of this community.

Her survivors besides her husband are: three sons and one daughter, Sergeant Charles Bishop, a marine in China, Howard and Willis Warren of Magee and Mrs. M.C. Dossett Jr., Magee; six sisters: Mrs. Horace Myers, Mrs. Ollie Ainsworth, Mrs. John Jones, Magee, Mrs. Winston McLaurin, Mrs. Whytt Stewart, Columbus, Mrs. D.L. Duck worth, Mt. Olive; two brothers: Lester Blackwell and Lavelle Blackwell of New Orleans.

Interment was in the Magee cemetery.^[4]
