Elizabeth (Blackwell) Trevarthen migrated from England to New Zealand.

Elizabeth (Blackwell) Trevarthen lived in Devonport, Auckland, New Zealand.

Elizabeth was born in 1805 or 1806 in either Crowan or St Agnes. Elizabeth Blackwell was daughter of Thomas Blackwell and Elizabeth Rodda.

Elizabeth married William at the Crowan Church in Crowan, Cornwall - Elizabeth was William's second wife, as William was a widower. Witnesses: John Thomas and Mary Trevarthen.

She passed away in 1871. She is said to have died of a heart attack at the age of 65 and the funeral left her son-in-law's Francis Rowe's residence at Newton at 3pm, 1 April, via Queen's Wharf and heading to North Shore (Devonport)

The report of her sudden death read as this in the paper: -

ANOTHER SUDDEN DEATH.

Yesterday another awfully sudden death occurred at Newton, the victim being a woman named Eliza Trevarthen. It appears that the deceased had been on a visit to Mr. Walters, at Papakura, and on returning, at half -past three o'clock in the afternoon, she went into.the shop of Mr. Waddell, baker, in Karangahape Road. She was conversing with Mrs. Waddell, and speaking of the long journey she had just made, when she suddenly fell back against the counter of the shop and expired. Constable Clarke, who was passing at the time, immediately went in search of a doctor, and met Dr. Philson in Pitt- street, who, on arriving at the shop, pronounced life to be extinct. The body was then removed to the house of the deceased's brother-in law, in Edinburgh street. An inquest will probably be held to-day.
