Benjamin was born in June of 1876 to Charles William and Phoebe Ann Godsey Blackwell. He is listed with his parents on the 1880 Census.[1] He was first married to Lacy Trueman Martin in about 1894-1895 (marriage record needed). He is listed with Lacy on the 1900 Census[2] but is listed as divorced on the 1910 Census.[3] The couple had at least four children. In April of 1922 he was remarried to Hartie Ray and the couple are listed together on the 1930 Census.[4] He passed away in May of 1935 at the age of 59.[5][6]
