Biography

Lucie Blackwell was born 27 Sep 1685 in New Kent County, VA to parents James Blackwell and Lydia Turner.

It is not known at the present time when and where Lucie met her husband, Benjamin Goodman. All that is known for certain is that Lucie and Benjamin were documented in the Registry of St. Peter's Parish, New Kent County, VA, in 1701 participating in the baptizing of their first born son, Samuel.

Lucie had a sister named Lydia, named for her mother, who married James Turner, a brother of Lucie's mother. Lydia and James had children (number unknown). These children were orphaned when their parents died sometime before 1711. The Vestry Book of St. Paul's Parish states that Benjamin Goodman and his wife Lucie were caring for the orphans living on the land formerly owned by James and Lydia Turner, the deceased parents of the orphans and the deceased brother of Lydia and the deceased brother-in-law of Benjamin.

Blackwell-2512 and Blackwell-520 appear to represent the same person because: same person, variations of name only.

This is clearly a duplicate of an already existing Lucy Blackwell -- spelled Lucie in her husband's will, Blackwell-520. Suggest you merge. If you have new information not listed in Blackwell-520 recommend that you contact one of the profile managers.
