Biography

Jacob Blackwell was born on 4 Aug 1692 in Newtown, Queens, New York. He married Mary Hallett on 10 May 1711 in Newtown, New York. They had seven children. Their daughter Sarah was our direct ancestor.

Jacob Blackwell was the youngest son of Robert. He succeeded to the paternal estate, and occupied the stone house on the form near Astoria, which he is believed to have erected. "Jacob, built an imposing dwelling on the East River at about today’s 37th Avenue in 1744 that was razed in 1901."[1][2]

He died there on 1 Dec. 1744, at the age of 63. He was a man of extraordinary size and strength. It is said that at his death, it was found necessary to remove the door-jamb, to allow his coffin to pass. An obituary which appeared in the Weekly Post-Boy stated that he "was six foot two inches high, and weighed, about three years before he died, 429 pounds, and by all appearance increased much more in weight before his death; how much is not known, because, though often solicited, he would not consent to be weighed a second time."

The notes state that he born New York, but the "form" shows London, England. I could not see any ref to him or surname Blackwell in your source #1 or #2.

Yes, I see him in Riker.
