Scarberry Sarah Blackwell married my 3rd great-grandfather, William Harrison Brannon. His mother's maiden name was Dudley. He was born in North Farnham Parish, Richmond Co, VA in 1745. At the time of her birth the place named for her birth would have been tribal lands of either the Muscogee (Creek) Indians or Cherokee.
I double checked my NSDAR paperwork. It states that her name is Scarberry Sarah Blackwell. They are very picky about the documentation that they accept. Her name is Blackwell not Berryman.
All of my sources indicate that her birth name was Blackwell not Berryman. It is unknown who her parents were. Placing her with any parents are pure speculation.
