Anna (Blackwood) Howell, was an eyewitness to scenes of the Revolutionary War which she recollected and narrated in written form years later, including the account of the march of Hessians through Haddenfield, NJ, the attack on Fort Mercer, the raid of the British throughout New Jersey and included the personal appearances of Lafayette, Pulaska, George Washington, Generals Howe, Henry Clinton, and Erskine, and Count Donop.
