Biography

Ancestry.com lists her birthday as 4 April, 1807. Will look for verification on this. I don't have an ancestry.com subscription to verify this citation (Online publication - Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com. Original data: Family Tree files submitted by Ancestry members.) but will look for alternative sources of verification.

This is information passed on to me from ancestory.com, it was posted by GeneWmWolfe: There is a little questioning of Neil's birthplace. Family records also indicate a possibility of his birth in Isle of Mann (Scotland?). Neil and Jennette were married about 1823. Along with their children, they immigrated in 1832, through Prince Edward Island, Canada. They lived in Prince Edward county, Canada until moving to Franklin county, Ohio in 1838. Neil was a farmer. Neil belonged to the Grand Lodge of Ohio (Masonic) #23 in Pickaway county. Joined 10-17-1866. Cemetery records indicate Neil was a veteran. No proof of this. Neil Shannon's cause of death was kidney disease.
