Through family history we discover the most beautiful tree in the forest of creation—our family tree. ~J. Richard Clarke
I have been doing family history research for approximately 40 years. I have been doing both paternal and maternal families.
The names I am researching are blair, reid, adams, montgomery, mcmann, wilson, mcbride, mckenny, francey, armstrong,English,Gillan, and Ney. All of these families were in Ireland in the 1800's. Some of the famiies went to Canada. The main areas of settlement in Canada were: Haldimand,Manvers,Cavan,Cartwright,Clarke,Tay,Flos, and Sunnidale. The pricipal areas in Ireland were Cavan,Monaghan, and Down.Mostof the families were either Anglican, Methodist or Presbyterian. The first family were in Canada by the late 1820's and the latest came in 1926. I am mainly interested in family history and not just collecting a lot of names and dates.
