Biography

James P Blair was born December 31, 1905.[1]

James P Blair was enumerated as son of the head of household at Albertville and Meville? Road, Jay Bird, Marshall County, Alabama for the April 18, United States Census, 1910. He was noted as born 1906 in Alabama and single as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head James A Blair, wife Jennie B Blair, daughter Audrey Blair, daughter Annie R Blair, son Willie G Blair and mother-in-law Elizabeth Stephenson.[2]

James Blair was enumerated as son of the head of household in Jay Bird, Marshall County, Alabama for the January 28, United States Census, 1920. He was noted as born 1906 in Alabama and single. He was a laborer on a home farm as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head James A Blair, wife Jennie Blair, son [daughter] Audry Blair, daughter Annie Blair, son Willis Blair, daughter Lila Blair and mother Texan Blair.[3]

James Blair wed Mary Archer January 29, 1929 in Marshall County, Alabama. He was twenty-three and she was twenty-one as seen in the image of the marriage license.[4]

James P Blair was enumerated as head of the household at 342 South Main Street, Boaz, Marshall County, Alabama for the April 10, United States Census, 1930. He is noted as born 1906 in Alabama and married. He was first married at the age of twenty-three. He was a renter and a presser at a printing shop as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household is wife Mary A Blair.[5]

On April 1, 1935, James P Blair lived in Boaz, Marshall County, Alabama.[6]

James P Blair was enumerated as head of the household at 203 12th Street, Gadsden, Etowah County, Alabama for the April 2, United States Census, 1940. He was noted as born 1906 in Alabama and married. He rented a home and was shown to be a cleaner and presser (dry cleaning shop) as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household is wife Marie Blair.[6]

James P Blair is listed in the July 1, 1993 United States Social Security Death Index. He had received his Social Security number in Alabama. His last place of residence is noted as Marshall, Alabama.[1]

As listed in the Find A Grave Index,[7] James Pleasant Blair is buried at Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery in Asbury, Marshall County, Alabama.[8]
