Hugh was born in 1856 or 1861. A Hugh Blair was recorded in the 1881 to 1901 Censuses for Bruce Twp., Bruce Co., Ontario, Canada. He died there on September 11, 1909.

The 1881 Census, Bruce Twp., Bruce Co., recorded a Hugh, 20, farmer, Cdn. Presbyterian living with his sister Martha Ann.
On Nov. 7, 1884, Hugh was living on Centre Rd., Caledon when he reported his mother’s death.
The 1891 Census, Bruce Twp., recorded a Hugh as a domestic residing with Martha Ann, his sister, and her husband.
The 1901 Census, Bruce Twp., recorded a Hugh Blair, born May 10, 1866, 34, English, Presbyterian, farm labourer, residing as a boarder with John McDonald and his family on Con. 2B, Lot 17 in a 6 room house. Was this our Hugh?
On Sept. 11, 1909 (D), a Hugh Blair died whoresided on Con. 21, Lot 26, Bruce Twp. and was reported in the Paisley Advocate. Was this our Hugh?
