Leslie Leroy Blair, a lifelong resident of Camden County, died at home in Osage Beach, Missouri on December 10th, 2007.

He was born March 15, 1929, to John H. and Ova M. Blair, the youngest of seven boys. When very young, he moved with his parents to Camdenton where they built and operated the Blair Hotel and later founded Blair Cedar. Les was a born again believer and a member and honorary deacon at WOW Faith Church in Osage Beach at the time of his death.

He was married to Ilagean Roofener on June 4, 1949, and they recently celebrated 58 years of marriage. She survives at their home in Osage Beach.

After graduating from Camdenton High School, Les attended Central Missouri State University before starting his own business in Camdenton. In 1959 he moved his business, Ozark Maid Candies, to Osage Beach, where he operated it and other business interests until his retirement.

Les had many interests. He was an avid sportsman, and especially enjoyed ocean fishing in Florida. He was a self taught artist who created beautiful leaded glass art, wood carvings and paintings. He published a number of books, mostly dealing with Ozark recipes and customs.

He was a loving Dad and a constant source of strength to his children, who will remember his wise counsel, loving care and endearing eccentricities with warm affection.

He leaves his wife, Geanie; three sons: Alan and wife, Judy, of Osage Beach; Don and wife, Jan, of Peculiar, Missouri; Kelly of Papillion, Nebraska; one daughter, Ann and husband, Doug, of Griffin, Georgia. Ten grandchildren: Julie Abraham, Jennifer Dowdney, Sara Carroll, Carrie Gilmore; Michael, Dave, Joe, Andrew, Alex and Doug Blair. Eight great grandchildren: Aidan and Keegan Dowdney, Lillie and Sophie Abraham; Phoebe Blair; Noah and Elizabeth Carroll; Evie Gilmore. Brother, C.C. Blair and wife, Dorothy; Sisters-in-law, Elsie, Mary and Ruth Blair. He also leaves a large extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Edgar, Ralph, John, Glen and Donnie; one son, James Michael; three grandsons, Joseph, James and Christopher Blair.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 13th, at the WOW Faith Church in Osage Beach. Burial will be at the Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery in Camdenton. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Hedges Funeral Home in Camdenton.
