Robert Blair. son of James and Rachel (Boyd) Blair was born in 1683 in Aghadowey, Ulster, Ireland. In 1703 he married Isabella Rankin in Aghadowey. Isabella, daughter of David Rankin, who was also born in 1683 in Aghadowey.
In 1718, Robert and Isabella Blair joined the other Blair Family members in immigrating to the American Colonies. After arriving in Boston, Robert Blair quickly moved his wife and family to settle in the village of Worcester, about 40 miles west of Boston.
Robert Blair died at the age of 91 on 14 Oct 1774. His obituray : "Died in Worcester, Mass., February 2, 1774, Mr. Robert Blair, a native of Ireland, aged 91 years. He left six sons, four daughters, eight-seven grandchildren, one hundred and six great grandchildren, in all two hundred and nine living descendants."
