[Josiah's birth about 1792 was estimated from his age of 58 in the 1850 census. Note however that he doesn't appear in the list from the Quaker records above, which was dated November 1793. Was he actually born later, perhaps a twin to Ruth, who was born in August 1794?]

Research Notes

A son Thomas Blair born about 1770 has been linked here to Enos, but not to Hannah. Enos didn't marry Hannah until 1775, and Quaker records do not list a child named Thomas for them, nor is a previous marriage mentioned for Enos. Was Thomas really his son? There are many named Thomas Blair during this time. More research is needed.

Blair-4388, which was merged into this profile, referred to him as Hans Enos Blair: "Hans Enos was born about 6 July 1750. Hans Enos Blair ... He passed away 12 May 1834."

The reference cited was geni.com, and no primary documentation was given. Since his marriage record (Center Monthly Meeting, Guilford Co. NC), 1779 tax list and 1790 census (Randolph Co. NC), and burial (Find A Grave Memorial# 16032706; Springfield Friends cemetery, Guilford Co. NC) all call him simply Enos, and no primary birth record is known, I have removed "Hans" from this profile. Elizabeth Harris, 6 Jan 2018.

Although I think that "Hans Enos" is incorrect, I think this note about the previous profile should be kept here so that someone else doesn't inadvertently restore it.

I picked up the wrong father for one of my ancestors. How do I delete the link?
I know of no evidence that his first name was Hans. Do you have documentation for this?
Blair-4388 and Blair-845 appear to represent the same person because: Duplicate person.
