DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
WILL BOOK 1, page 274, Greenbrier Co. Va. (JOSEPH NEWTON) Probated October 1812.
Wills - Greenbrier County, Virginia.
Will of Joseph Newton:
(4) I give & bequeath to my beloved daughter HANNAH NEWTON (single woman) three hundred dollars, one horse which she has generally claimed saddle & bridle, one bed furniture & two cows to her & her heirs forever.
William Blake, son of Theophilus Blake and Margaret (thought to be Kennett) married Hannah Chapman NOT Hannah Newton. This is a mistake seen in a lot of genealogies. The will of Joseph Newton, Jr, father of Hannah Newton lists Hannah as unmarried upon his death in 1812.
