Bible Record

While the following described document was not in a Bible, it is the same type of information which one would find there. This document was handed down to the submitter through several generations of the Hall family in Elbert Co., GA and is believed to have been written not too long after the last entry in 1821:

Wm. Capel, the son of Wm. and Sally Head, was born March 7th, 1813.

William Head was born March 25th, 1761. Sally Head his wife was born March 13, 1770.

William Head died Oct 6th, 1821"

[Submitters notes: William Hall died in Elbert Co. ca 1809. His widow Sarah "Sally" Blake, daughter of William Blake, remarried in Elbert Co. 1811 to William Head (1761-1821), a widower with nine children by a 1st wife Peggy, i. e. Elizabeth, Thomas, Benjamin, Polly, George Marshall, Sarah, Nancy, Lucinda and Willis R. Head. William Head and Sally Blake Hall Head had one child, William Capel Head, his family being later found living in Bossier Parish, LA. In the list of William Hall's children above, Dick refers to Blake Richard or Richard Blake Hall who married Elizabeth Pesnell in Habersham Co., GA. John was John Pryor Hall. Seals died as a young adult, apparently unmarried. No record has been found as to what happened to Polly, Alley (Alcy) or Samuel. John Pryor, Thomas and Simeon died in Elbert Co. Sarah Blake Hall Head died in Elbert Co. in 1848][2][3]

Note

Note: {geni:about_me} I have been looking at various records placed on the Internet regarding Sarah Blake, first married to William Hall and married second to William Head. Some of these records show Sarah was the daughter of William Blake and Lucy Allen and that she died in either Jackson, Elbert Co. or Jackson Co., GA. Both statements are incorrect and I would like to set the record straight. Sarah's father William Blake married on 23 May 1780 in Wake Co., NC to Lucy Allen Mobley, widow of William Mobley. This marriage was ten years after Sarah's birth. Sarah was the daughter of an earlier wife of William Blake and whose name is unknown. Furthermore, Sarah was known to be living in Elbert Co., GA just weeks before her death in 1848 and where the family of her daughter-in-law Mariah Turman Hall was seeing after her needs and making purchases for her. There is no reason whatsoever to believe that she died in Jackson Co., GA, and there is no Jackson in Elbert Co. Chandler Eavenson, GGG grandson of Sarah Blake Hall.
