Biography

Elijah Blake, born 8 Apr 1756 in Middletown, Connecticut, was the third child of Rachel (Alvord) Blake (1733-abt.1768) and Stephen Blake (1730-1767) [1].

Elijah Blake was a Revolutionary War soldier.

Elijah married 27 Sep 1779, probably @ Torrington, Connecticut, Sarah (Hamlin; 1757 - 1811) [2]. They may have had 11 children, including (some data from online memorial sites):

  • Sally Blake (1780–1794)
  • Mary Polly (Blake; 1782-1878); married Timothy Loomis
  • Harry Blake (1788–1867)
  • Lavinia Blake (1789–1861); married Samuel Hurlbut
  • Allen Blake (1792–1850)

Elijah Blake died 2 oct 1833 at Winchester, Connecticut. His grave is in Winchester Cemetery, Winchester Center, Litchfield County, Connecticut, USA [3].
