Jean-Baptiste Blanchard was born around 1730, in Cobequit, Acadie, the son of Pierre Blanchard and Francoise Brault.[1]
In 1754 he married Anne Hébert, daughter of Jean Hébert and Claire Dugas, in Acadie. [2]
In 1758 Jean-Baptiste, his wife Anne, and their son Jean were deported to France aboard one of five British ships that left Isle Saint-Jean or Ile Royale, and docked at Saint-Malo, France on 23 January 1759. Listed with this family was Joseph Blanchard, brother of Madeleine. [3] Jean and his son died at sea during the crossing. Anne was at the hospital from 26 January to 7 February 1759 in Ploubalay. She remarried on October 15 the following year, at the age of 21, to 38 year old Joseph Aucoin, at Ploubalay, Côtes-d'Armor, France. [1]
