He appointed Christopher C. Blanchard and Oram White executors, and the will was filed 22 July, 1889 (Norfolk Probate, 26916.)

Bought brother in law Wilson TIrrell's New Orleans shoe business. Built a mansion on Pleasant St in 1859 for his family, though he cont'd to work in New Orleans
