Josiah Benjamin Adam Bland was born in England.



Josiah Benjamin Adam was born in England on 26 February 1799; he was the son of Francis Bland and Elizabeth Adams.

He was a Trader and Farmer who arrived in the Cape in 1825. He married Cecilia Fredrica du Plessis in Riversdal on 12 May 1828. They had the following children:

Helena Letitia du Plessis Bland
Susan Maria Bland
Cecilia Fredrika Bland

Josiah was 62 years old when he passed away at Weyders Rivier near Riversdal in the Cape Colony on 6 May 1861.[1][2]
