Biography

Annabel (Smith) Barsham immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

Annabel (Anabel) Smith (alias Bland) was born say 1615, probably in Colchester, Essex, England. She was the daughter of John Smith, alias Bland, and Isabel Drake Smith.[1]

She arrived in Watertown with her father, mother and sister, Isabel, from Colchester in 1635.[2]

Annabel was married by 1635 in Watertown to William Barsham. [3][4] They had the following children:

  • John 1635[5]
  • Hannah 1637[6]
  • Joshua 1640[7]
  • Susanna 1641/2[1]
  • Nathaniel c1644[1]
  • Sarah 1646[1]
  • Mary 1648[1]
  • Rebecca c1656[1]
  • Elizabeth 1658[1]

She died by August 23, 1683, probably in Watertown, as she was not mentioned in her husband's will.[1]
