Note: 1910 U.S. census, population schedule, Wayne County, West Virginia, Stonewall District, dwelling 235, family 236, lines 14-17, Lorenzo D. Hobbs household; May 10, 1910; National Archives Microfilm Series: T624 Roll: 1699 Page: 199; digital image, HeritageQuestOnline.com, http://www.heritagequestonline.com (accessed February 8, 2009).
Note that the marriage record has their names as LD hobbs, 25 yrs, and MA Blankenship, 20 yrs. Therefore it does not prove whether her name was Maria or Mariah. Also, it gives their birthplaces as both in Wayne County, West Virginia. The Guyandotte River is now in Lincoln County, which was formed in 1867 and by 1869 had absorbed a small portion of Wayne County; it is not clear whether that portion was the west bank of the Guyandotte.
