Biography

Levi Blevins (5th gen.) (Daniel Jr.-4, Daniel #2-3, William #2-2, William #1-1) b. 1779 in Virginia.

Levi married (1) Mary ______ ? or Mary E. ? (possibly Thompson.)

Levi and Mary Blevins were involved in several land transactions in Ashe Co, NC between 1803 and 1816.

They appeared on the Russell Co, Va tax list in 1810, and on the Scott Co, Va census of 1820, the Lawrence Co, Ky census of 1830 & 1840, the Johnson Co., Ky census of 1850 and 1860.

Levi died abt. 1861 in Johnson Co.,KY and is buried in the ‘Tomahawk’ Cemetery which is said to be located “on a knoll below Stidham” in Martin Co., KY.

Is anyone aware of a source for the claim that Levi was the son of Daniel Blevins and Sarah Belcher, other than Leslie Blevins' book? His book cites no source for the claim and it appears to be entirely speculative. I plan to detach the relationship unless anyone is aware of a reliable source for the claim.
