Biography

Sarah Blevins is also known as Mary or Polly Blevins. She was born between 1756 and 1759 in Hawkins, Tennessee.

Sarah “Sally” Blevins (4th gen.) (William #5 (Will)-3, Daniel #1-2, William #1-1) b. abt. 1759.

Marriage

Sarah ‘Sally’ Blevins married James Bolling. Most Blevins researchers correctly have it Sarah was a dau of William #3 and married James Bolling not Bowlin abt. 1777. This author believes the correct family name is Bolling. Confusion among Blevins family researchers has been a large part of Blevins family research.

Death

'Sally died circa 1833 in Clay, Kentucky.

"Polly" was also married to a Bowling, given name not known. There were two Bowling families of the same generation in KY with the Asher and Sizemore families.

William Bowling, m. Malinda Walter 21 Aug.1807 5. Eli Bowling, b. ca.1785, m. Sarah Anderson, ca.1806 6. Christopher Bowling, b.1787, m Nancy Baker, 3 June 1808 7. James Bowling, b. 1789, m. Kize Lockard, 25 May 1808 8. John Bowling, b. 1790, m. Sally Henson 9. Joseph Bowling, m. Nancy Bowling (supposedly d/o Mary "Polly" Blevins her husband who was an unknown Bowling. Other marriages clearly show that there was a second Bowling family in this same area of KY.

1. Per Wikipedia, the county was not founded until 1787.

2. In the 1750s parents, Polly's purported parents were still living in Virginia.
