I didn't label Joseph Josiah Blevins as a Sr because I don't know if he actually named a son Joseph Jr. or Joseph Josiah Jr. or not and William Blevins #9 had a son named Joseph Josiah b. ca 1830. See my comments of Sept. 2014.

Hope you don't mind but I added "Sr." suffix to your profile on Joseph Josiah Blevins (DOB = 1780). Hope all is going well and sorry it's been such a bit since I last contacted you. Betsy Stinson (Blevins cousin-at-large)

Joseph Josiah Blevins (4th gen.) (John #4-3, Daniel #1-2, William #1-1) b. 1780 d. July 15, 1859 in Morgan County, AL. According to the 1850 Morgan Co., AL, census, Joseph was born in Virginia and his wife was listed as born in Tenn. According to his will (of Morgan Co, AL), he had two sons, Armstead and James (James is listed as an “illegitimate” in the will) and two daughters , Catherine and Rebecca. The 1850 census lists a Josiah Blevins, Jr. but he is not listed in Joseph’s will indicating he may not have actually been Joseph’s son or may have been deceased by the time Joseph’s will was written.
