Biography

Louis, son of William and Lena, was born in Pittsburgh, but as a young man moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where he worked in the steel industry. There is some confusion regarding his middle name. Several sources give his name as Louis Morton Bly and others as Louis David. He used the name "Louis D. Bly" when he married and is listed as "Louis D. Bly" in the Cleveland City directories.
