Biography

"Andrew used the name Andrew Lassesen (son of Lasse) before 1865. Andrew Lewis (the name he used when he joined the Wisconsin Volunteers in 1865 at the age of 20) was in the 49th Regiment Co. F. He was also in the legislature of the Dakota Territory in 1877. He is listed in the church records in Union County SD from 1872 through 1880 at the Brule Creek Lutheran Church.

The whole family used the last name of Boe in all the church records but Andrew still used the name Andrew Lewis in a land purchase and application for a homestead in the early 1870's. Andrew lived near Sulpher, South Dakota and mined and was a rancher, farmer and carpenter. He lived at Central City, South Dakota in 1878. He homesteaded at Watawa, Union County, South Dakota in 1872 and on Willow Creek in Butte County, South Dakota in early 1880's.

He married Randina "Dina" Higbye August 24 (year unknown). They later divorced and he remarried Agnes Matilda "Tilda". Andrew Boe's 8 children were born in the following order: George, Martin, Rose, Roger, Carl David, Olive, Lenora 'Babe', Les. He died at the age of 88 years and 7 months from a tumor in stomach.
