Husband of Didama Ellen "Damie" (Stidham) Boggs The Boggs Family originated In Scotland in 1720
Doctor Benjamin Franklin Boggs was known as Doc Frank. He was born on July 24, 1844 in Lee County Virginia and died June 1927 in Dry Fork, Lawrence County, Kentucky. Doctor was his name, not his profession. Frank was a farmer. His parents were William Boggs and Anne Johnson.
He married Didama Ellen 'Damie' Stidham on August 24, 1865 in Wise County, Virginia. She was born on January 10, 1844 in Lee County, Virginia and died January 17, 1928 in Raceland, Greenup County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Jeremiah Stidham and Virginia Jane Osborn. They are both buried in the Bishop Cemetery in Argillite, Greenup Co., KY.
Frank and Damie had the following children: Jonas, Nelson, Celia Jane, Anna Annie, Elizabeth Lizzie, Samuel, Hannah, Clement Clem, and William Thomas.
I have tried to get the information changed on the Find A Grave Web site for Dr. Benjamin Boggs regarding his birth date. However his great grand daughter will not change it, stating that the information marker showing him born in 1863 is correct. Lawrence County Kentucky, death records show him dying at the age of 83 in 1927 making him born in 1844 not 1863. I have tried to explain to his great grand daughter Jan Hill that if he was born in 1863 then he was only 2 years old when he and her great grandmother got married. She doesn't not understand. I have tried and tried. The wrong picture and dates are posted on Find A Grave and she will not change them.
