Will Bohannon was born at the old home place. When Joseph Bohannon's estate was divided, Alexander drew the land lot with the family home. Will's brother Roy and sister Dollie as well as the parents moved into Newnan, but Will wanted to stay a farmer.
Unable to make a good enough living farming, he became a farm manager for various large farms in Coweta County. His last paying job was managing the County Poor Farm. After his wife's death in 1919, he moved to a small farm that he had purchased in 1925 called the Orr PLace. There he lived alone without electricity or running water until his son wired the place for a few lights and a pump in the well.
A hard working, thrifty man, he put his son through Georgia Tech and his daughter through GSCW. However, he never really recovered from his wife's death and was quiet and reclusive. As the minister who buried him said, "He was a man without guile."
