James de Bohun was born on 3 February 1280/81 at Ford, Sussex, England.1 He was the son of John de Bohun and Joan de la Chapelle. He married Joan de Brewes, daughter of Sir William de Breuse, 2nd Lord Brewes and Agnes (?), before 1301. He died before 30 May 1306. He lived at Midhurst, Sussex, England. On 28 October 1302 he did homage and had livery of his lands in Ireland. He lived at Ballymadden, County Kildare, Ireland.
