Biography

Mary was born about 1762. She died after 1792.

Exactly when Mary Bolton married is unknown, but if she married Peyton Smith, Jr., when she was 18, when they married it would have been 1780-1784.

She married Peyton Smith, Jr., at Pittsylvania Co, VA, where they were living when they attended the Franklin Co land sale, as recorded.

Mary Bolton was a legatee with her husband Peyton Smith, Jr., at a FRANKLIN CO, VA OCT 1788 LAND TRANSACTION NAMING LEGATEES AND WITNESSES OF her father ROBERT BOLTON’S ESTATE. Probably born 1760-1770.

Bolton-4357 and Bolton-1686 appear to represent the same person because: they share a similar birthdate, the same father Robert, the same siblings, the same spouse, Peyton Smith, and similar facts in their biographies.

The Mary Bolton who married Peyton Smith was a sibling to children born about 1755 to at least 1767. Mary Hubbard was not the mother of this Mary Bolton because of menopause before age 50.
