Lydia Boltwood was born in 1653[1] or about 1671 at Hadley, Hampshire, Massachusetts.[2]

Lydia was the daughter of Robert Boltwood and his unknown wife,[3] whose first name may have been Mary,[4] as in Mary Gernor.[5]

Lydia was the sister of:[4]

  1. Samuel, "a man of remarkable strength and bravery, was stationed at Deer[field], at the time of the sack of that village by French and Indians, and was there slain Feb. 29, 1704";

  3. Martha, married 1 April 1674, Daniel Warner, of Hatfield, and died 22 September 1710; and
  4. Mary, married 24 October 1667, James Beebe, and died 19 August 1676.

Lydia married at Hadley, on 20 April 1674 (2 April[4]), John Warner, the son of John Warner and his wife, Priscilla Symonds,[3] and they had children:

  5. Mary Warner, born 15 January 1682 at Springfield;[11]

Lydia Warner, the wife of John Warner, was sick and died on 26 January 1682/3, at Springfield, Hampden, Massachusetts,[12] from complications of childbirth.[1] [5]

Lydia's husband outlived her, dying at Springfield, on 21 January 1723/4.[13] John Warner married three more times:

  • "John Warner and Sarah Warner were joined in marriage Aug 31, 1683" at Springfield.[14] Sarah was sick and gave birth before her time and died at Springfield on 24 January 1686, the child was born alive but died the same day.[15]
  • "John Warner and Sarah Ferry were joined in marriage June 30, 1687" at Springfield.[16] Sarah, the daughter of Charles Ferry and his wife, Sarah Harmon, was born at Springfield on 15 December 1668.[3] Sarah was sick and died at Springfield on 25 July 1689;[17]
  • "John Warner and widow Rebecca Cooley were married on November 26, 1691" at Springfield.[18] Rebecca, the widow of Obadiah Cooley, and the daughter of John Williams and his wife, Mary Burley/Buckly, was born at Windsor on 20 April 1649.[3] Rebecca was sick and died at Springfield, on 18 October 1715.[19]

I removed John Warner, Jr. as husband to Lydia. I hope that clears things up and gives poor Lydia a little rest!

It looks like this profile was damaged by a merge without judicious editing. Poor Lydia seems to have married three men named John Warner, some of whom she married after death. And she had a child after she died. With Sally's help, we will clean this up, without damaging the good information it started with.

Lydia did not marry three John Warner’s.

She married John Warner of Massachusetts, not John Warner of Conneticuit.
