Reno District.
Died, on Sept. 26, 1893, John A. Bolyard, aged 67 years. Interment in the old Mountain cemetery. Mr. Bolyard was an old soldier and drew a very liberal pension for his services in the sixties. He was a good neighbor, kind hearted and clever, but had such a desire for strong drink that he had lost all control of self.

Another veteran gone––John A. Bolyard, of Reno district, died September 26, 1893, of rheumatism and heart disease contracted while in the service, aged 67 years. Mr. Bolyard was a member of Co. E., 15th W. Va. Inft. As there is no widow or miner [sic] heirs the pension haters can save $17 per month by his death.

He is buried in the Mount Israel United Methodist Church Cemetery, near Fellowsville, Preston County, WV; served in the Union Army during the Civil War.
