Biography

Anna Bomberger was born 1705, in Eschelbronn, Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany, a daughter of Christian and Mara Bomberger, and immigrated with her family to Pennsylvania.[1]

Anna married John Kauffman [2] on January 1, 1725. [1] Their children, born in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, were :

  1. Christian B. Kauffman, [2] born 1724, in Millersville, Lancaster county, died 1816, in Hempfield, Lancaster county, wife's name is Barbara
  2. John B. Kauffman, born September 12, 1727, died March 24, 1776, in Landisville, Lancaster county, married Anna S. Long [2]
  3. Maria Kauffman, born 1735, died 1805, in Lancaster, PA, married Jonas Nolt [2]
  4. Susanna Kauffman, born 1741, died 1782, in Lancaster, PA, married Isaac Long [2]
  5. Michael Kauffman, born October 22, 1746, in Landisville, died January 6, 1816, in Landisville, Lancaster county, PA, married Veronica Berg [2]
  6. Anna Kauffman, married David Mumma [2]
  7. Elizabeth Kauffman, married John Reist or Reif [2]

Anna is reported to have died in 1741 [2] but this conflicts with the 1746 birth date currently (Nov 2022) recorded for her son Michael. Further research is needed to clarify.

Bomberger-115 and Bomberger-12 appear to represent the same person because: Both profiles are for the Anna Bomberger who died c.1741 in Lancaster, PA, wife of John Kauffman. Bomberger-115 is unsourced, and details from Bomberger-12 should be retained. Evidence needed to confirm that Jacob Kauffman-77 was a child of this couple.
