New Zealand Herald 28th March 1931 PYLE - BONE : on February 27th at the Baptist Tabernacle by the Rev. Knowles Kempton; Joseph Surtees, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Pyle of Maungatapere, to Elizabeth Florence Sarah, only daughter of Mr. George Bone of Kitchener Road, Avondale.
New Zealand Herald 2nd March 1931 PYLE—BONE. The wedding was celebrated at the Tabernacle on Friday evening of Miss Elizabeth Florence Sarah Bone, only daughter of Mr. George Bone, of Kitchener Road Avondale, and Mr. Joseph Surtees Pyle, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Pyle, of Takahiwai. The Rev. Knowles Kempton officiated and Mr. R. Airey played the wedding music. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a gown of shell-pink georgette with silver trimming and veil of silk ninon caught with orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of pale pink asters. The bridesmaids, Misses H. Tomlinson and A. Rennie, wore gowns of embroidered shrimp silk voile and ninon head-dress with floral clusters to tone, and carried bouquets of dahlias. The train-bearers, Master E. Rennie and Miss Birdie Pyle, wore a suit of cream satin' and frock of pale blue crepe de chine respectively and carried posies. The best man was Mr. George Fordyce, and the groomsman Mr. W. Airey. A reception was held at the Penrith Rooms, guests being received by Mrs. Tomlinson.
