Ebenezer Bone was born on 22 May 1814 in Straiton, Ayrshire, Scotland to Ebenezer Bone and Margaret (Shankland) Bone.[1]
Ebenezer Bone married Catherine Christison on 12 Dec 1836 in Maybole, Ayrshire.[2]
Ebenezer and Catherine had four children:
In 1841 Ebenezer Bone (age 25-29, Grocer) lived in Sorbie Village, Wigtownshire with his wife Catherine (35-39) and three daughters: Alison (4), Margaret (2), and Catherine (0), as well as Alison Thomson (75-79).[3]
In 1851 Ebenezer Bone (age 36, Clark Traveller) lived at 155 Eglinton Street, Gorbals parish, Glasgow, Lanarkshire with his wife Catherine (46) and three children: Alison (13, Milliner Apprentice), Catherine (9, Scholar At Home), and Charles (6, Scholar At Home), as well as four lodgers: Archibald Fleming (22, Writers General Clark), James McFadyen (17, Warehouseman), Ann Mair (25, Dressmaker), and Kathren McAuley (18, Millener).[4]
In 1861 Ebenezer Bone (age 46, Surveyor of Water Rates) lived at Watt Street in Govan parish, Glasgow with his wife Catherine (54) and three children: Margaret (21), Catherine (19), and Charles (16, Apprentice C E & Land Surveyor).[5]
Ebenezer's wife was widowed by the time of the 1871 census.
