The first store of which there is any knowledge was kept by Ebenezer Bonney, at his place near Indian Head River bridge. People came a long distance to buy. An aged lady remembers hearing her grandmother relate her going there with her husband in the fall to buy sufficient for the coming winter. Mr. Bonney also kept tavern.

Ebenezer Bonney performed Patriotic Service in Massachusetts in the American Revolution.

"Ebenezer Bonney (1735-1802) responded to the Lexington Alarm as a private in Capt. Thomas Loring's company, and 1777, as Sgt. in James Harlow's company, Col. Thomas Lothrup's regiment. He was born and died in Plympton."[1]

Probate

Ebenezer Bonney of Plympton, yeoman died intestate and on 20 September 1802, Isaac Bonney of Plympton was granted the administration of his estate.[2]

His inventory was taken on 12 November 1802 in Plympton.[3]

In 1803, his real estate was recorded again.[4]
