Various records give birth year issues -- he was born either in 1836 as the death record/gravestone says, or in 1840 which matches up better to the census records. Need to continue looking for more support for one or the other.
The US Census of 1850 shows Nathaniel living in his father's household in Princeton, Washington, Maine, United States: James Bonney (47) born in New Brunswick, Canada, Jane Bonney (39) born in Maine, Stephen Bonney (18), John Bonney (16), Amelia Bonney (13), Nathaniel Bonney (10), Maryann Bonney (8), William Bonney (6), Moses Bonney (4) and Nancy Bonney (0) -- all the children born in Maine. [2]
On December 14, 1863 Nathaniel P. Bonny married Amelia J. Billings in Princeton, Washington, Maine. [3]
It appears as though Pamelia had one child before her death as Nathaniel was listed with just a 5-year-old Roscoe Bonney as family for the 1870 US Census.[4]
On March 20, 1871 Nathaniel P. Bonney married Mary E. Booth in Maine.[5]
The US Census of 1880 shows Nathaniel and Mary's family living in Pleasant Plains, Lake, Michigan, United States: self Nathaniel P Bonney (40) born in Maine, wife Mary E Bonney (32) born in Massachusetts, and children A Roscoe Bonney (15), Permelia Bonney (8), Eliza M Bonney (6), Clara M Bonney (5), Alice J Bonney (3) and Charles M Bonney (2) -- all the children born in Maine.[6]
