Biography
Dorcas Ann Bonnifield
She was born March 10, 1830 is the daughter of Arnold Bonnifield and Elizabeth Minear. Dorcas grew up in Randolph County, Virginia (now West Virginia)[1] and Tucker, Virginia (now West Virginia)[2] along with ten siblings; Katharine Bonnifield, Samuel Bonnifield, David Bonnifield, Sarah Jane Bonnifield, Abraham Bonnifield, John C Bonnifield, Angeletta Bonnifield, Allen H Bonnifield, Truman Bonnifield and William P Bonnifield.
Dorcas married Daniel Coleman Adams September 16, 1867[3] and they made their home in Tucker County, West Virginia until his death May 1, 1880. Together they raised four children; Maxwell Adams, Edna Adams, Adutha Adams[4] and Cornwell Adams. Dorcas died August 17, 1886 and is buried in Bonifield Cemetery, Saint George, West Virginia.[5]
