Obituary Effie F Booker, 97, of Alamogordo, passed away, Wednesday, June 15, 2005 in Alamogordo. Born in 1908 on the VR Ranch in Glenrock, Wyoming, Effie was a member of a prominent Wyoming ranching family. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Ronald Charles Fowler, she devoted her life to raising a family and helping her husband further his career with American Telephone and Telegraph Company, Long Lines Division. These endeavors took them from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Phoenix, Arizona, where they started their family, to Holbrook, Arizona and finally to El Paso, Texas where they spent 24 years. Upon Ron's retirement in 1968 they moved to Alpine, Arizona where Effie spent some of the happiest years of her life, golfing, fishing, snowshoeing and spending time with her family and friends in the mountains that she so dearly loved. Effie has been a resident of Alamogordo since 1985. . . She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985, and numerous brothers and sisters, including former Alamogordo residents, Alfred Booker, Albina Mackey and Helen Booker. Survivors incluide three sons and their wives, Leonard and Betty Jo Fowler of Eureka Springs Arkansas, Laurence and Erlynn Fowler of El Paso and Michael and Judith Fowler of Alamogordo; a daughter Jodelle Melton of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; 12 Great grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. No services are planned and buriel will be in Monte Vista Cemetery.
