James Monroe Boone was born on 12 Dec 1788 in Hunting Creek, Wilkes, North Carolina, United States, son of Reverend Benjamin Boone (1749 - 1836) and Mary (Wilson) Boone (1765 - 1823).

James married Sophronia Smith (1808 - 1835) on 1 Sep 1825 in Tennessee. [1][2][3]

Their children were:

  1. Daniel Thales Boone (1826 - 1910)
  2. Benjamin Franklin Boone (~1828 - ~1863)
  3. Eular Bernoulli Boone (1831 - )
  4. Cornelia Boone (~1833 - 1835)
  5. Maj. Lafayette Boone (1834 - 1900).

James died on 11 Jun 1856 in Elkins, Washington, Arkansas aged 67. He is buried in Boone Pioneer Cemetery, Greenland, Arkansas.
