Biography

Marianne was born 22 April 1764 and baptized Marie on 10 June 1764 at Pointe Coupée Post as the daughter of Antoine Bordelon and Marie Decuir.[1]

She married [[Mayeux-19|Pierre Mayeux at Pointe Coupee on 6 July 1779[2] after getting a civil license two days before.[3]

According to Find a Grave contributor, Cathy Lemoine Sturgell, Marianne died sometime after the 29 August 1826 marriage of her son, Terrence Mayeux to Scholastic Normand at which she was a witness, and before 31 December 1832, the earliest date found on her succession.[4] The date of marriage can be confirmed[5]

  4. Find a Grave Memorial for Marianne Bordelon Mayeux, Created by Cathy (Lemoine) Sturgell, 10 September 2017, accessed 17 Feb 2018. Partial excerpt:
Marianne died between 29 August 1826 and 31 December 1832. She witnessed the religious marriage ceremony of her son, Terrence Mayeux, to Scholastic Normand at Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Mansura on 29 August 1826 so she was still alive on that date. However, the earliest date recorded in her succession records is 31 December 1832. It's likely she died shortly before that date. A burial record has not been found but the burial records for Saint Paul's are missing between May 1832 and April 1835.
