Note: NICHOLS Dolores "Dee" Louise Nichols , longtime resident of Whitehall, Ohio, born March 31, 1930, daughter of the late Otto and Lillian Leslein Bort, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 25, 2005. Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Co-owner of Nichols Industries since 1978. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Columbus, Ohio. She was a member of the Monday Bridge Club and No Sew No Stress Craft Club. Survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, William (Bill); daughters, Penny (Stephen) Simms of Gahanna, Joyce (Richard) Harkless of Reynoldsburg; and son, Patrick (Nancy) Nichols of Pickerington; eight grandchildren, Benjamin (Janet) Simms of Brownsburg, Indiana; Jason (Heather) Harkless of Parrish, Florida, April (Jason) Martin of Reynoldsburg, Matt Harkless of Reynoldsburg, and Shelley, Aaron, Sarah, and Michael Nichols of Pickerington; five great-grandchildren, Joseph and Philip Simms, and Samuel, Abigail, and Brennan Martin. Aunt Edith Larimer of Columbus; several cousins, and numerous friends. Family and friends may call Sunday 2-5 p.m. at EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, Ohio. Funeral services Monday 10:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 530 McNaughten Rd., Columbus, Ohio. Pastor Marc Schroeder, officiating. Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio. The family gives special thanks to the loving staff of Mt. Carmel Hospice for their kindness, care, and support.[3]
