This daughter of Sir William Borthwick, whose given name is not known, married John Oliphant.[1][2]
She had a daughter, Marion, who was contracted to marry in 1399. This would indicate a birth circa 1383-8, so the mother's birth must be about 1365.
According to Douglas (not always reliable) she married Sir John Oliphant of Aberdalgy as his first wife (of two). This is not mentioned anywhere else as far as can be ascertained. However if correct it can only be the Sir John Oliphant of Aberdalgy (son of Sir Walter) who is mentioned by Macfarlane in his "Genealogy of the Oliphants" (pps:97-124) living during 1377-1412.[3]However as Sir John died in or before 1420, and her purported father was probably born between 1384-1390 the chronology of the original Wikitree entry is out, meaning she must be a daughter in the previous generation. I have therefore corrected this.[4]
