Elizabeth Boss was born about August 20, 1817 in Maccan, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia, Canada, daughter of Aaron Boss (1790–1879) and Eunice Harrison (1796–1892).

Elizabeth married Henry Smith (born about October 17, 1813 in Maccan; son of William Benjamin Smith and Jane (Bulmer) Smith). Their known children were:
Elizabeth died about November 4, 1892 in Rodney, Cumberland, Nova Scotia, aged about 75. She was buried in Rodney Cemetery, Rodney, Cumberland County, Nova Scotia.[1]
