Thomas Boteller of Sudle was the son of Joan, the daughter of John, the son of Matilda, who was the sister of Elizabeth who married de Frevylle, and they were the daughters of John married to Alice, the daughter of William de la Plaunche, who was the son of Peter de Montfort.[1]
In 8 Richard II (1385), in Nottinghamshire at Easter, Thomas Boteller of Sudle and Baldwyn de Frevylle, Kt, sued Thomas de Stafford, Kt, and Nicholas de Stafford, Kt, for the manors of Gunthorp and Loudham.[1] Baldwin and Thomas gave this pedigree:

THOMAS LE BOTELER (or BUTLER), Knt., of Sudeley, Gloucestershire, Knight of the Shire for Gloucestershire, younger son by his father's 2n marriage, born at Tyrley, Staffordshire, and baptized at Drayton (in Hayles), Staffordshire 1 October 1358. he married on or before 18 July 1385 ALICE BEAUCHAMP, daughter of John de Beauchamp, Knt., of Powick, Worcestershire, by his 1st wife, Joan, daughter of John de Cherleton, Knt., 2nd Lord Cherleton of Powis, [see POWICK 11 for her ancestry]. They had four sons, John [de jure 5th Lord Sudeley], William, Knt. [de jure 6th Lord Sudeley], Thomas, and Ralph, K.G. [7th Lord Sudeley] and four daughters, Elizabeth, Joan, Margaret, and Eleanor. SIR THOMAS LE BOTELER, de jure 4th Lord Sudeley, died 21 Sept. 1398. His widow, Alice, married (2nd) before 1406 JOHN DALLINGRIDGE. They had no issue. Alice died 5 Feb. 1442/3.
