Joseph Boucher was born in Berthier-sur-Mer (Berthier-en-Bas) in 1713, baptized in Saint-Thomas, Montmagny church 5 days after his birth. He married Marie Anne Destroismaisons dite Picard in 1753. Joseph died in 1789, aged around 79 per his funeral record. He may sometimes have used the name Basile, although this is uncertain, since his wife in such instances is listed as Marie Françoise, so it might be another couple entirely. The last marriage of his children listed him as Jean Baptiste, he was already deceased then.[1]
