Biography

Drapeau identifiant les profils du Canada, Nouvelle-France
Marie Anne Boucher lived
in Canada, Nouvelle-France.

Birth and Baptism
Marie Anne Boucher was born on 28 Feb 1675 and was baptized on 28 Apr 1675 at Notre-Dame de Québec.[1][2] She was the daughter of Jean-Galeran Boucher and Marie Leclerc. Godparents were Jean Baptiste François Deschamps sieur de la Bouteillerie & Catherine Gertrude Macart his wife. No explanation recorded for the 2 month time between birth and baptism.

Marriage
François Duval, aged 22 per the record, and Marie Anne Boucher, aged 17, were married on 21 Jan 1692 in Notre-Dame-de-Liesse de Rivière-Ouelle, Canada, Nouvelle-France.[3]

13 known children, 7 known to marry

Place of birth may have been St-Jean-Port-Joli after 1700, with many of the children receiving lay baptism and later getting full ceremony and recording of their birth and baptism at different parish churches, in the general area but not near for the time. Hence delays between births and recorded baptisms.

Death
Marie Anne Boucher died after 12 Jan 1745 when she and her husband, Francois Duval, were still living in L'Islet, Canada, Nouvelle-France. On 12 Jan 1745, her son, François, was issued an ordnance by the Intendant Giles Hocquart to pay his parents a pension of 27 livres and 5 sols per year. The Intendant had issued her son Augustin a similar ordnance 14 Jun 1744.[5] Note: there was previous supposition that she died in 1762 in L'Islet based on a blank entry that only has "Marie Duval 19 Oct 1762" in the margin. Uncertain that it is her.

Russell you can actually edit the original name first entered, go to edit page and above the boxes you will find the original name with a little 'edit' in green beside it. Save having her listed as Bouchard if she never was.
