Ethel was born in 1917. She was the daughter of Unnamed Father Boucher. She passed away in 1998. [1]
Visitation for Ethel M. Babe Stankewicz, will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, with a wake service at 4 p.m. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Teresa Catholic Church, where she was a member. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Teresa Church or to the American Heart Association. Mrs. Stankewicz died Sunday (Oct. 4, 1998) at Northwestern University emergency room, where she was taken after a sudden illness while attending the Bears' game. She was born April 25, 1917 in Bourbonnais, the daughter of Archille and Maria LaRoche Boucher. Her husband, Bruno Stankewicz, whom she married Feb. 16, 1946 at Maternity BVM Church, died Oct. 31, 1973. She was a retired 27-year employee of Rudolf Express Trucking Co. She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women and a past member of St. Rose of Lima and Maternity BVM churches. Surviving are four sons and two daughters-in-law, Stephen and Mary of Kankakee, Melvin and Joyce of Janesville, Wis., Randall of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kevin of Chicago; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marita and Scott Smith of Lombard and Lisa and Michael Polk of Park Ridge; one sister, Annette Belluso of Kankakee; one brother, Joseph Boucher of Bradley; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are three sisters, Angela Nelson, Isabelle Betourne, Rita Hanson and a brother, John Boucher.
