According to the 1880 federal census Lewis was born in Alabama and both parents were born in Tennessee. Lewis was a farmer with one farm hand, CW Bean. Lucy and Lewis had three children, ET, 12, WHJ, 6, and SR, 4.
In 1885 ET, WH, and SR were enrolled in school in Chickasaw, Mississippi.
In 1900 Lewis and Lucy lived with son ET in Karnes, Texas with ET's family and their sons' HG and WH.
